PAD Paris, Art Paris Art Fair, Salon du Dessin: more than ten works exhibited in Paris

Galleries

Eleven works of Georges Mathieu are being exhibited in the art fairs currently taking place in Paris.

These works are on display:

  • at PAD Paris, in the Tuileries gardens until Sunday April 3rd, 2016, by Galerie Protée (a nice alkyd on canvas representative of 1987, whose background goes from cold to warm), the Repetto Gallery (a refined 1959 painting and a 1960 ink on paper), Galerie Hurtebize (a volcanic alkyd on canvas from 1990), Galerie des Modernes (a 1960 oil painting) and Aktis Gallery (a 1945 painting with a resolute stroke) ;
  • at Art Paris Art Fair, at the Grand Palais until Sunday April 3rd, 2016, by Galerie Hélène Bailly (a smartly combined display of two Buffet works and two Mathieu works offering an alternative between abstract and figurative, and between hues), Galerie Michel Vidal (a staggering and very rare polychromy from 1959) and Omer Tiroche Contemporary Art (a 1969 painting both uncompromising and dreamy) ;
  • at the Salon du Dessin, at the Palais Brongniart until Monday April 4th, 2016, by Galerie Applicat-Prazan (a 1954 Indian ink with a nervous and distinguished stroke).
