Air France reissues its posters designed by Georges Mathieu

Air France is reissuing the advertising posters Georges Mathieu designed for the airline, offering them for sale under its heritage label Air France Legend. An initial collection of six destinations has been available since 17 December 2025 on the company’s online shop: France, Great Britain, Canada, the United States, South America and Mexico. For the festive season, the posters are also on offer at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche in Paris, at the Oneart stand next to the Air France pop-up store.

A partner of the “Georges Mathieu. Geste, Vitesse, Mouvement” retrospective at the Monnaie de Paris in the spring of 2025, Air France thus revives a historic commission. In 1966, the airline asked Mathieu to promote the main destinations of its network; the artist delivered compositions embodying the essence of each country, identifiable at a glance, and some fifteen original posters were published in 1967, before being presented that same year at the Musée national d’art moderne. The series remains one of the first encounters between art and advertising.

These reproductions are the result of more than six months of collaboration between the Air France teams, the Georges Mathieu Committee and artisan printers, screen printers and colour experts, so as to match the look of the original prints. Printed in France, the posters come in two sizes (30 × 40 and 50 × 70 cm), in a limited edition of 500 copies per poster and per size.
